Well…I hate to admit to this, but I haven’t been doing much weekend work here on the Farm. Traveling to far off places for the my company followed by a rough week at work, followed by another trip, and the 100+F heat has really made me value resting on the weekend (read: being lazy).
Good news, though! I did get some of the pasture mowed on Saturday, in between medic and fire calls. And even more good news…temperatures are supposed to be much cooler this weekend and even cooler the next weekend! Time to get back to work and get some land cleared.
I do have a small complaint about the Collin County Fire Marshal’s office. They are extremely slow on updating the burn information line. We were all set to burn on Saturday, but after the Information line wasn’t updated after 10, we had to cancel our burn. Now, I’m a fireman and I understand that the Fire Marshal has a lot of work to do, but I wish that they would understand that there are those of us that depend on them to make a Burn Day determination on Saturday morning.
