We had a good weekend here at Fox Run Farms and got quite a bit of work done.
Bob had been eying Tilly’s mower for a while and determined that she needed some new chains to heel the front of the mower deck up. Well, through some good ole’ farm ingenuity, Bob made a set of chains for her and installed them. Now, the mower is easier to operate and is less likely to drag!
One of the obstacles that we face is burn days. Every Saturday we call the Burn Information Line to determine if the Fire Marshal has declared that day a burn day. I’m not quite sure what criteria the Fire Marshal uses, but we certainly don’t understand it.
Good thing that Bob and Pat have the time to take care of the burn pile during the week. The burn pile and the trees/limbs that we loaded on the trailer got burned on Wednesday! This is a big help as the burn pile is the limiting factor in clearing and freeing up the pasture.
We’ll do some more work this weekend, but it’ll be a light weekend. Still, progress is progress!
